Hogwarts Battle: Review

For those of you who still haven’t decided yet if whether or not to buy Hogwarts Battle, I’ll try to clear your mind.

I’ve bought it myself four days ago with my best friend (she had a copy herself), and honestly we didn’t stop a day playing it. The game is so gripping that you can’t just think about anything else. The battle is between 4 Hogwarts students: Harry, Ron, Hermione and Neville, and the Death Eaters. W

When the game starts you can choose a Hero between the four, and you’ll be assigned the corresponding deck, everyone of which has particular abilities depending on which you’ll choose: for example Hermione will have the time-turner, or Neville will have Toad. You start from a maximum health point of 12, and during the game if you get attacked by the Death Eaters you’ll loose them.

Your aim is to prevent the Death Eaters to gain control over some grounds in the Wizarding World, if they managed to do so, they’ll win. For the Heroes to win, you must defeat all the Death Eaters, gaining “Attack Point”, and Coins with which you’ll be able to buy new cards to add in your Deck and make it stronger.

It may look easy but, while during the first year at Hogwarts you’ll only have two or three Death Eaters to defeat, the more you get going, the more they increase. This is because every year, you have to add the Death Eaters to the game of the previous years.

If you possess a Wand, you can have fun with your friends recreating all the spells, since every Spell Card has the Wand Movement, which personally I have done the previous days; You can collect objects from the films, such as Chocolate Frogs, or Nimbus. You’ll be able to get allies such as: Arthur Weasley, Sirius Black, Albus Dumbledore, and more.

This is just the tip of the game, I don’t wanna spoiler it all to you, but if you’re planning to get it, you definitely should. It’s really amazing and funny.

And the more you proceed with the game, the more variables come out! It really is an irreplaceable peace for your collection. About the languages don’t worry: the most common edition is the English one, but just last week has been released for the first time, an Italian Edition. It’s almost finished already though, so I warmly suggest you to get a move on to get your copy!

Ah! One thing more, didn’t I mention? It’s also available an expansion of the game with even more adventures, and in which you can choose to be other Heroes rather than Harry, Ron exc.. for example you can choose to be Luna. Even if, at least for now, the expansion is only available in an English version.
