The Cursed Child – Brodway Cast

As you well know “The Cursed Child”, the sequel of the Harry Potter saga, already spopulated in London’s Theatre, also soaring up a lot of discussion regarding the choice of the actors and their consistence with the original Harry Potter cast.

Now that the theatral opera, spopulated all over the world, the Brodway Cast has been chosen, will it be more truthful of the London one? Let’s take a closer look:

First Row from the left Jaime Snyder, Nadia Brown, Jonno Roberts
Second Row from the left Matt Mueller, Dianne Davis, Bubba Weiler
Sitted in front line from the left Jenny Jules, Nicholas Podany

Jamie Snyder as Harry Potter. If you imagine a scar put upon his forhead I must say, he’s pretty close to our Harry, even for the form of the jaw, and the nose.

Dianne Davis as Ginny Weasley. Well, what to say? Surely not as we remembered her, but maybe with a red wig we won’t notice the difference, will we?

Nicholas Podany as Albus Severus Potter. Well, one-hundred and fifty points to Slytherin. He surely does seem a Slytherin guy to me, and for sure he has some features in common with his father’s family, especially the eyes.

Matt Mueller as Ronald Weasley. Let’s just say that for sure Molly would be concerned about how much weight his son has lost.

Jenny Jules as Hermione Granger. Well… like in London cast we see immediately a problem in confront to our well-known Hermione… well… how to say… she’s taken a little bit too much sun. Now not that this is a ratial problem, only that if you chose a caucasic actress for eight years… then she can’t magically become dark skinned, it’s just consistency. If she would have been dark-skinned from the beginning we would have loved her so!

Nadia Brown as Rose Granger-Weasley. Well… like mother like daughter.

Jonno Roberts as Draco Malfoy. Here for sure we find some similitudes, like the glacial eyes; Still, even if not a perfect choice, it’s a great one. With a blond wig I trust he’ll be a perfect Malfoy Senior.

Bubba Weiler as Scorpius Malfoy. A little out of the range, a strange kind of beauty.. personally I find him very fitted for his role. I trust he’ll give justice to Scorpius’s character, this face not too much harsh, but a little bit impressionable, is what describes at the best the role he’s playing.

In conclusion this cast just like the English one does not reflect fondly the features of the characters we used to know in the books. And it’s nothing personal, but just imagine a world where Cho Chang was a caucasic girl kissing Harry Potter a chinese boy, it’s just strange, because for twenty years we’ve been used to our character as we saw them in films and described in books.

Said this we would like of course to offer our best wishes to the Brodway cast for their performance, we trust that for sure you’ll do a great show giving justice to our love ones.
